02Platforms

Four ways we build. One standard for all of them.

We choose the platform after we understand your content model, your team and your margin. Here is how that decision usually goes, including when we'll talk you out of it.

Speed and dynamic apps01

Next.js

Pages that are ready before the visitor decides whether to stay.

Pick it when
Lead-gen sites that have to rank and convert, content at scale, logged-in apps and portals.
Skip it when
Your team rebuilds page layouts every week with no developer on call. Take WordPress.
  • app/page.tsxStaticHTML from the CDN edge, no server wait
  • services/[slug]ISR · 1hRebuilt in the background, never stale for long
  • insights/[slug]On-demandCMS publish fires a revalidate webhook
  • api/leadRoute handlerValidated, spam-checked, pushed to CRM

Images ship as AVIF/WebP at the exact rendered size. Fonts are self-hosted with no layout shift.

Zero-bloat CMS02

Custom WordPress

WordPress your editors can run without breaking it.

Pick it when
Content teams that publish often and already know the editor.
Skip it when
You want Elementor, Divi or another page builder. We don't build on them.

EditorPage builder: none

  • HeroLayout locked
  • Proof strip3 to 6 items
  • FAQSchema generated
  • CTA bandOne action only

High-converting commerce03

Shopify

A store designed around your margin, not a theme demo.

Pick it when
Catalogs that need custom product pages, bundles, or a headless front end for speed.
Skip it when
Under ten SKUs and no plan to grow. A stock theme is the honest answer.

Bespoke builds04

Custom APIs and integrations

The tools off-the-shelf software won't give you.

Pick it when
Quote calculators, booking flows, CRM and ERP syncs, internal dashboards, gated portals.
Skip it when
A plugin already does it well and you won't outgrow it. We'll tell you to install it.

"service": "roof-replacement",
"sqft": 2400,
"estimate": { "low": 18400, "high": 23100 },
"crm": "lead created, rep assigned"
}

Zip, service and square footage in. A defensible price range and a routed lead out, in one request.

03Feel it

Don't take our word for the craft. Touch it.

Four patterns we build for clients, running live on this page. Each one is here because it moves a number, not because it looks clever in a portfolio.

Motion reduced

Demo APointer-driven depth

Product pages people want to touch.

Layered depth that follows the cursor or a finger. Used sparingly, it slows the scroll right where the buy button sits.

Earns its keep on: Product detail pages, configurators, membership tiers

Demo BStructure x-ray

Every pixel has a reason. Look underneath.

Under the finished design is the system that keeps it consistent: type scale, 8-point spacing, tap targets sized for thumbs, images cropped to a fixed ratio.

Earns its keep on: Design systems, multi-location brands, redesigns that must stay on-brand

Read less. Feel more. Convert.

Scroll to fill

Demo CScroll-linked type

Typography that sells to people who skim.

Most visitors read the headlines and nothing else. Scroll-linked type makes those few words land in order, at the pace of the reader.

Earns its keep on: Homepages, launch pages, long-form sales pages

A third of the weight. Watch it load.

Every request is a chance to lose the visitor. This is what a popular Elementor starter template asks a phone to download, next to a page from this site.

Measured 2026-10-06 with Lighthouse 12.8 (mobile, default throttling), one run per URL from Melbourne, FL. Templates are Astra + Elementor starter sites hosted by the theme vendor (Local business, Plumber, Construction). Weight is total transfer including analytics. Transfer time is weight divided by throughput and ignores latency, so real load times are longer for every page.

05The result

A rebuild that became the company's best salesperson.

Craft only counts if it changes a number. This is what one full rebuild did, with the figures we publish on our service page.

Nationwide moving company / full rebuild

+70%

on-site conversions

90 days after launch

The problem was not traffic. The old HTML site attracted organic visitors, but the interface was dated, the flow was confusing, and nothing on the page communicated the multi-state service level the company actually delivers. Buyers questioned its credibility before they ever reached the phone.

The fix was a rebuild, not a reskin. A new information flow (what you do, who you do it for, why you, what next), a modern CMS the team can run, and conversion paths designed first and styled second.

06Fit

We turn down more projects than we take.

Selectivity is how a small senior team keeps the work this good. Read both columns before you book.

We are the right call when you want

  • A site with a number attached to it.

Leads, booked calls, revenue per visitor. If success is not measurable, we cannot be held to it, and we do not take work we cannot be held to.

  • One person who can say yes this week.

Committees stretch a six-week build into six months and flatten every design decision into the average of the room.

  • A business that wants to own what we build.

Your code, your repository, your hosting account. No platform lock-in that makes leaving us painful.

  • A site that has to rank and convert at once.

Technical SEO, structured data and answer-engine readiness are built into the first commit, not sold back to you later.

These describe projects we want.

We are the wrong call when you want

  • A template with your logo on it.

If a theme store already solves your problem, buy the theme. We will tell you so on the first call.

  • Choosing among five quotes on price alone.

We are never the cheapest bid, and we do not discount craft to win one.

  • Page-builder or AI-generated sites.

Elementor, Divi and one-prompt site generators cap performance and produce the same page your competitors have. We do not build on them.

  • A redesign meant to copy a competitor.

We will borrow what is working in your market, but we will not clone someone else's site.

These describe projects we decline.

07Scope it

Three questions. A scope you can take anywhere.

Tell us the platform, the features and the deadline. You get a recommendation with the reasoning, and you can bring it to the call or to a competitor.

08Questions

What buyers ask before they call.

How is a custom website different from a template or page builder?

A template is designed for the average business, then loaded with code to cover every use case, so every visitor downloads features nobody on your site uses. A custom build is designed around your buyer and your conversion goal, and ships only the code that serves them. The practical result is a faster site, a cleaner message, and nothing that looks like ten competitors.

How do you decide between Next.js, WordPress and Shopify?

We decide from your content model, your team and your margin, not from what we prefer to build. Next.js fits sites that must rank and convert and apps with logged-in users. Custom WordPress fits content teams that publish often and want a familiar editor. Shopify fits commerce, with a headless front end when speed on a large catalog matters. If a simpler option solves your problem, we will say so.

Will my team be able to edit the site without breaking it?

Yes. On WordPress we build locked, purpose-made content blocks instead of a free-form page builder, so editors change copy and order without touching layout. On Next.js we connect a CMS so publishing never requires a developer. Editing rules are agreed before the build starts.

Will a custom website help me rank in search and in AI answers?

It removes the technical ceiling. Fast load times, clean crawlable structure, accurate structured data and clear entity information are built in from the first commit. Rankings and AI citations still depend on content and authority, which is why web design is usually paired with SEO, AEO or GEO work.

Do you work with businesses outside Brevard County?

Yes. Brevard SEM is based in Melbourne, Florida and serves the Space Coast, including Palm Bay, Viera, Cocoa Beach, Rockledge, Titusville and Merritt Island, and takes on nationwide projects where the fit is right.

Do you use AI to generate websites?

No. We do not ship AI-generated sites or one-prompt site builders. Design and engineering decisions are made by the senior team on your project, and you can ask who made any specific decision.

What do you need from me to scope a project?

Your platform preference if you have one, what the site has to accomplish in measurable terms, any features beyond a standard marketing site, and your target launch window. The scope estimator on this page turns those answers into a summary you can bring to a consultation.
